Osho - friend and master
Meditation
is the natural state of being of every human being that lives 24 hours a day and 365 days a year in total consciousness. People who are constantly in this state of being, are called awakened or enlightened. Osho was one of them, as well as Buddha, Jesus, Gurdjeff or Krishnamurti - just to mention the most popular ones.
Besides, Osho was also a master. A Master is somebody,
who is both able to share his experiences and also feels
the need for it after their enlightenment. This is something
that cannot be taken for granted. There are many people
who are not able to or do not want to share this mind-blowing
experience after their enlightenment. Why should they
- at best they would only be considered as mad, but often
they are persecuted, crucified or poisoned.
And still, Osho's only wish was to show us a way out of our difficulties. Incessantly, he answered questions which came from all over the world to him, answering each individually. Furthermore, Osho also talked about many interesting and important topics as well, e.g. he analysed and examined the mind with all its shades: the mind as a moralist, as a system of beliefs, as emotion, as religion, as history - everything is examined closely and integrated.
The famous author Tom Robbins
on Osho: "Osho is like a hard, sweet wind, circling
the planet, blowing the beanies off of rabbis and popes,
scattering the lies on the desks of the bureaucrats,
stampeding the jackasses in the stables of the powerful,
lifting the skirts of the pathologically prudish and
tickling the spiritually dead back to live."
At the end of the 60ies, Osho
developed his unique dynamic meditations. "Men of today,"
he says, "are so burdened with antiquated views of the
world and traditions and so troubled by the fears of
modern life that they have to go through a deep cleansing
process first, till they are able to reach the state
of a completely relaxed, mind-free meditation."
Nearly all of Osho's words were recorded on cassette or video and were later published as books, tapes, videos and CDs in many different languages. Many bookstores have an own section of Osho books by now.
