At first, he only gives private darshans in his appartment, but as more and more spiritual seekers are visiting him, Osho is founding the ashram in Pune, Koregaon Park. During his darshans, he gives sannyas, recommends personal meditations and answers questions. Osho becomes well-known all over the world, especially in the West. A new way of living, the commune, causes a lot of sensation. People in red and with mala, who moan, scream, stamp their feet, cry or laugh during their meditation were unheard of before. Osho is working closely together with Western therapists to develop new therapies based on meditation. Ranch in Oregon, USA

In 1981, Osho moves with his sannyasins to Antilope, Oregon in the U.S., in order to start a new and bigger commune project. A ranch was bought comprising 65,000 acres of land. A little part of the desert turns into a flowering oasis.

Osho retreats into a long time of silence. Ma Anand Sheela is taking over the leadership and abuses her power. Many sannyasins leave the ranch, but nobody feels responsible for what is happening and intervenes. At the same time, the American government causes more and more problems. It considers Rajneeshpuram as an illegal town with 5000 inhabitants.

The neighbourhood reacts hostile, too. As everything escalates in the end, Sheela and her friends escape and Osho is made responsible and is arrested.
