Birth in Hamburg Osho Manjusha in the Eastern Ore Mountains Mahamudra leaves her body |

Born in Hamburg-Altona in a 3-room-apartment during the last summer of war in 1944. The father is still in war captivity. First experiences of shortage and violence.
The first 5 years she lives together with 2 adults and 4 children in one room.
1950 they move into the half of a settlement house with 4 rooms. By 1953, the familiy has added up to 8 members.
During her youth, Germany was busy with reconstruction of destroyed building.1951 school enrolment, skipping grade 1 and going straight to grade 2. Learning is fun and being rebellious a matter of authenticity.

1954 high-school in Altona and first love
1956 - 1957 a lot of activities, trips, camps with the German Youth Association for Nature Lovers.

1959 business college (part 1) and meeting Oswin, who is training to be a teacher. They marry 2 years later. In 1961, her first child is born and after business college (part 2) and the long-awaited move into their own flat, the birth of her second daughter follows in 1964.
1967 after the early death of her husband, she learns computer programming and meets her second husband. 1970 the family moves into the newly built house and she founds her own computer business (probably as the first woman in Germany).
Turbulent times: the business starts off very well (with up to 6 employees), separation from her partner, moving house to Bonn, closing down of the company and considering a completely new way of life....

......and in between, skiing holidays with her children

In 1981 she follows the call of her heart again:
she travels to India with her youngest daughter. She is given Sannyas by Osho and receives her new name.
In India, meditation and the rediscovery of "old" and very deep experiences begins.
Here on the right, a photo of her meeting a master in Gujarat/ India.
Life in Rajneeshpuram/ USA.
In 1983 moving house to Wales/ England, foundation of a small business.
In 1986 she opens an Osho Meditation Center together with her friend and partner Dharma. It is given the name "Manjusha" by Osho exactly on Mahamudras sannyas birthday (have a look at the history of the manjusha meditation center). First meditation camps and kids' camps.
In 1989, she goes back to Poona/India again. Building up the Kids Commune in Poona, Koregaon Parc:
a complete care programme including overnight stays, school lessons, day trips...

Celebrations....
In 1990, Osho leaves his body. Mahamudra moves to Gujarat. In the beautiful self-built house (on the photo above it is still in the building process), first silent groups (Vipassana) are happening.

A new change is in the air. Mahamudra goes on a big world trip with her long-time companion Dharma. It is also a search for a new place to live and meditate.
Of course, the elephant is not the only means of transport on their world trip.
In 1993, the time has come to move to Höckendorf in the Ore mountains, close to Dresden. With only four very active people, the building of the Osho Manjusha Meditation Center begins. The Commune keeps on growing and the house is rebuilt inside...
Always with Osho in the heart - and sometimes as a big "wake-up" call as you can see here at the main station in Dresden in 1996.
Center and Commune begin to blossom. Silent meditations, retreats, transformation of traumatic experiences and intense counselling sessions are first on Mahamudras agenda besides the overall Center management.
In the meantime, the Commune has grown up to 19 members and the house became too small. Mahamudra shares her new vision with us: "Komm in die Sonne" - the new project "come into the sun".
At the end of 1999, Center and Commune move to Schmiedeberg.
It´s a time full of creativity: Mahamdura leads many people through deep transformation processes - new weekend-events are created. At the same time, the Commune and working guests are busy with the demolition of the old houses. Within several years, new buildings, for example our great meditation hall, are built. Allowing space for housing more than 50 people to live there and meditate.
During her last 2 years, Mahamudra went on leaving more and more responsibility in the hands of the commune, but still supported us wherever she could.
On 17 May 2006, Mahamudra left her body in silence.
Her love and presence can still be felt by those who are open for it. Even by those, who did not yet had the chance to meet her in her life-time. There is also
a beautiful film about her available in German language by manjusha-media.
